Vegan Dog Biscuits

Jolie is dreaming about cookies beside her new 'Dog Bone Cookie Cutter Set' from the PETA catalog.

Urban Vegan hosted the tART contest, and the prize was a gift certificate from PETA.

Seems appropriate that the prize should benefit the only (official) animal in the house.

The set includes:
* Five Ways to Be Your Dog's Best Friend
* Vegan Dog Biscuits Recipe
* 7-piece Cookie Cutter Set

Here's Liv mixing the ingredients, while arranging the Cookie Cutters (big bone, medium bone, baby bone, dog house, big fire hydrant, baby fire hydrant, & dog paw).

Rolling out the dough.

The recipe yielded two packed cookie sheets for us, and we utilized each cookie cutter several times. About 35 biscuits.

PETA has lots of other cool things for animal companions that you may be interested in. When I grabbed the link, I saw a funny cat puke hazard sign for the floors.

Finally, Jolie's moment comes!

The taste test.

And.... She loved them! Schnup quickly ate as many as she could, and she wouldn't lie just to make us feel good.

I've seen her gobble up barf like it were a delicacy.

And, be finicky and refuse perfectly good food.

She eats what she likes. No excuses.

Jolie loves vegan treats -- here's a link with many recipes.

This is Jolie's special trick. She wins hearts over every time with this one.

She will stay like this as long as it takes. Then, after we say "OK", she'll toss the treat in the air, and many times she'll catch it in her mouth. It's impressive!

I didn't realize when I bent the dog bones to squeeze them on the cookie sheet that they'd be a perfect curve for her nose! Yeaah, for Jolie!

What can your animal companion do that's special?

Vegan dog biscuits! How great. Liv is quite the helper, huh?! I love that last photo of Jolie doing her trick.

Killian is a cat, but more of a dog in a cat's body. He comes when I call him, he follows me around and he does this prairie-dog-stance when he hears something of interest. Other than that, he lays around being huge all day, sleeping in bed under the covers being cute. That's special to me.

What a cool littel kit! I'm sure Jolie was happy you won the tArt contest too. :) I love the perfectly curved cookie on her nose.
I have a cat named Nicodemus. He doesn't really have any special tricks, but he does have extra big six-toed feetsies. He practically has thumbs. lol

Oh my god that last photo is one of the most adorable things I've seen! You should submit it to cuteoverload.com!

My kitties don't and won't do any special tricks. Let's see... Marble can gallop sideways, does that count!

It looks like the biscuit kit was a great hit for you!

What a cute post. Lovin Jolie's special trick. The only trick Noble knows is "Be Cool" in which he lies down. I originally thought "Be Cool" would be like the calm down, and go lie down on your bed trick. I wanted something to separate that from "lie down" but it's come to mean calm down and lie down where ever you might be. Bailey doesn't do anything, trick wise, but she sure does barf! I checked out that sign on PETA and laughed my head off. What a crack up. She barfs all the time so it's totally applicable to us. Although, I'm not so sure we really need a sign broadcasting it.

My name is Adriana Harts, I am the founder of www.thetravellingcarrot.com ("The Carrot"). The Carrot is a vegetarian restaurant guide that provides many services to the vegetarian community. Our users have access to vegetarian recipes, news, forums, as well as a wealth of information on the latest vegetarian restaurants world wide.

My reason for writing you is two fold, The first reason is that I love your blog and I would like to extend an invitation to you to write articles for our website. I would not be able to pay you anything at the moment, but I think it would be fun for you to express yourself in a different outlet.
I can set up the articles any way you would like, I can make it into a type of blog, or perhaps you would prefer to write articles about being a vegetarian, or vegetarianism in general, you can write about travel, food, people. I live the creativity to you. Think about it.

I am also writing to you with the hope that you will agree to swap Links with me. I think we both know how difficult it is to get to, and to stay on the top of Google search engines and this is an opportunity to help each other out.

When the Carrot's website was launched, we tried setting up different link accounts, but we realized quickly that there is no quick fix for this, and the personal approach of creating relationships, not just links, is much better for all concerned. So, we are now committed to creating the links to the Carrot, one email at a time.

If you are interested in writing Articles for our site please let me know as soon as possible so that I can set up the website. If you are interested in switching links, please send me an email with the web address that you would like to trade, as well as a short description so that I can place it on the Carrot's website.

Thanks again, and we hope to be hearing form you soon!
