Shoshone Falls
Yesterday, we took a day-trip to Shoshone Falls. (notice how low the water is in the link photo) Thanks to an unusually wet winter, the 212 foot waterfall is roaring, with a heavy mist spraying hundreds of feet. These are the highest flows the falls have seen in seven years. (Thank you, Mother Nature!) Because all this water is such a welcome and rare thing, it is drawing large crowds (more than 4,300 last weekend to this small park). So, we decided to go during the week and there were only a few others. It was such a beautiful sight with a loud roar and water mist to cool us from the warm sun.

This looks beatiful! What it must be like to have rain... we didn't have any for 5 months (fall-spring). I love those photos with your children = priceless.
looks like windy fun!
Amazing beautiful pics! Thanks for the encouragement on my blog! Have a great weekend if I don't "see" you before.
:)
That is just breathtaking!!! Wow! I love the last photo where you all look like you are getting windy/misty wet! Perhaps you didn't get wet at all, but that must have been a spectacular visit. :)

Hi Everybody: You're all correct....it was beautiful, windy, wet, loud, & awesome!
Lol! Wish this comment thingie would work! I'm trying one more time, it may be my pc, it is running soooooo sloooooow! Is Olivia holding her ears and Abi is looking sooo concerned for big sissy!!! Cute! Where's Jolie???! Did she stay home?? Happy week-end! xoxoxooxox
Looks really awesome! I'm reminiscing our Yellowstone vacation last summer. Actually, I think about it quite a lot- that place is awesome and I envy you for living in ID!
Thanks for sharing all the photos with the children. What do they think about the falls?
That is one beautiful place where you are. I love traveling to places like this. Really exceptional to see the beauty of the world around us... The natural world! My sis lived in Idaho for many years and still speaks of places such as Shoshone Falls with love and affection!
I did see the big difference in water level with the photo on the link. "Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink." I guess not in this case! (Not that anyone's gonna drink directly from the Falls there, right?!)
That's grandiose ! Thank you for posting it.
