Tofu pups ROCK!

so how much Agar Flakes did you buy? We have them here for about $69.00 and some change per pound...haven't bought any yet.

Sundried peaches sound FAB!

Hemp Seeds! WOW! I can't find them either!!?!!

Larabars...wish I could get them here! They sell Clif Bars and Clif Builders Bars here...they have the Lemon Luna Bar as well...

Great list!

Great post Vicki! I always stare at the agar flakes, wanting them so badly but they're so costly. I guess you only use a bit at a time right?

Teddy, agar is a good thickening and gelling agent.

Vicki again, I am so happy for you that you finally found hemp seeds! I hope they are good to you, as I mentioned, I eat them almost everyday, in cereal, smoothies, on top of meals, etc. I like the CocoaMole Lara Bar. I just got the new Cinnamon Roll one, but since I've been making date bars at home, LaraBar is more of a convienence now, and not as good. I do like them a lot though.

I can't wait to see what you do with the peaches and the Lentils from the box. Tell me how long it took to make and how it was because I see those a lot and want to try the boxes, but then I cringe about the actual box. I'm curious to know your opinions.

hi harmonia: my grand total on the agar flakes was < $3.00 ~ but i must admit i was a bit stunned by the price! it weighs almost nothing. yes, i felt like i found the "pot of gold" with the hemp nuts ~ i've been looking for them for a while.

hi catherine: good to see you! did you happen to see your peanut butter dip a couple posts ago? we liked it. :o)

hi teddy: here's some info on the agar flakes:

An odorless, tasteless, 100 percent vegetable gelatin made of a variety of wild sea vegetable with strong bonding properties. Naturally freeze dried, made without chemicals. A healthy alternative to commercial animal or chemical gelatins. Use to thicken vegetable or fruit aspics, custards and pie fillings.

i have a couple recipes that call for it that i really want to try...

hi leslie: the agar flakes really aren't that expensive because they are feather light & you don't use much (at least in the recipes i've come across).

i really like tasty bites - especially if i'm eating alone. in the microwave they are ready in 2 minutes! i recycle all paper, so i don't feel so bad because after the little box there is only an inner wrapper that squishes down to not much. i don't get them all the time, but they sure are a quick 1 person healthy meal!

ps ~ thanks for your email! i'm thinking & i'll get back to you very soon! :o)

Hey Vicki!

Yes, I did see my PB and pumpkin dips a while ago -- glad they were a hit! I've been a bit of a blog-lurker lately -- busy with stuff, so only time to read, not comment. Not for long, though!
