Laurelhurst Park & Tempeh Burger To Go

Jess suggested a park for us to stretch our legs after visiting The Daily Grind and before we began our journey home. Laurelhurst Park was a perfect place to play!

Swings....

Balance Beam....

Pull-ups? Yeah, right!

Art macking down the tempeh burger from The Daily Grind. I got a bite of it, and it was really yummy. It's tough for vegetarians/vegans traveling and looking for some tasty vittles on the road! To have a tempeh burger cooked and ready to eat was a little slice of heaven....on a bun!

Oh how that last photo looks so familiar! I have many road-trip photos of Ray driving-mid-bite.

Tempeh burger! Man, I should check out their hot food section more often~ I'm happy you guys made it to Laurelhurst park - and to think it's a few minutes from my apartment! What a lovely park.

I love the park's hours!!!

5:01 a.m. That cracked me up! I was expecting to see that they close at 10:31 p.m.

SWINGS! Wheeeeeeeeeee! There is a park near where I live where I take Mattie almost every day and the swings always invite me, but I haven't yet gone. I love swinging (not the "adult" kind, of course, the ones you show!)...

That photo of your husband helping your daughter on the balance beam is precious, Vicki! Only "outdone" but the one of him swining her on the swing. Wheeeeeeeeeeee!

Your dog looks very involved in staring at something in the distance. I know that pose well. Since Mattie is deaf, she is so astute to what is happening around her.

Oh the joy of a tempeh burger... YES!

Speaking of potlucks, that park is actually where I held a vegan potluck last year, and hope to this year as well ; )

hi cinda: having little kids is a great excuse for me to swing & i don't think one can be too old to swing! good question...why didn't we get more tempeh burgers?! next time we will, and more scones too.

hi jess: at first i read: "tempeh burger-man" he he! the park is a few minutes from your place?! how cool, we kept commenting on what a beautiful neighborhood that was. and the park is simply georgous -- the whole experience was a big treat for us.

hi kleopatra: i didn't even notice until you pointed it out -- that is too funny. "sorry lady...it's only 5 am...the park doesn't open for another minute." jolie is a very serious squirrel watcher!

hi leslie: i agree with kai -- a blogger potluck would be awesome! maybe @ jess's neighborhood park?!

i can't think of a better place in the U.S. to jump in the plane & visit! it's awesome.
